France's Forgotten Gem, Rediscovered
Byrrh Grand Quinquina is a French aperitif wine born in 1866 in the Roussillon region, crafted from a blend of mistelle (grape juice and alcohol) and quinine-rich cinchona bark. Once one of the best-selling aperitifs in France, Byrrh fell into obscurity only to be rediscovered by a new generation of bartenders and aperitif lovers who prize its complexity and heritage. Made with local Grenache and Carignan grapes, it strikes a rare balance between wine, bitterness, and spice.
