Founded on Christmas Day 1887 by William Grant and his family in the Glenfiddich glen of Speyside — the name means "Valley of the Deer" in Gaelic, reflected in the iconic stag on every bottle — the distillery remains family-owned to this day, a remarkable achievement for a brand of this global scale. The 12 Year Old is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon American oak and ex-oloroso sherry casks, then married together in large oak vats to achieve the signature fresh, fruity, and approachable Glenfiddich house style.

The nose is fresh, light, and immediately inviting — fresh pear, green apple, and a gentle floral sweetness, with soft notes of vanilla, cream, and a subtle hint of oak.
