Kilkerran 12 Year Old Single Malt Campbeltown Scotch Whisky 750ml
Campbeltown's Quiet Revival
Kilkerran 12 Year Old is the flagship expression from Glengyle Distillery — the first new distillery to open in Campbeltown in over a century when it was revived in 2004 by the Mitchell family, the same family behind the legendary Springbank. Named after the ancient name for Campbeltown, Kilkerran is a whisky that carries the weight of a region's revival on its shoulders — and does so with remarkable grace. Matured for 12 years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, it delivers the classic Campbeltown character: briny, oily, and complex, with a depth that belies its relatively modest price.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Distinctive and complex — fresh sea air, ripe orchard fruit, and a gentle oiliness with hints of vanilla, light sherry sweetness, and a subtle coastal brine that is unmistakably Campbeltown
- Palate: Rich and layered — toffee, dried fruit, and a warming spice with a characteristic oily mouthfeel and a gentle maritime salinity that builds beautifully across the palate
- Finish: Long and satisfying with lingering fruit, spice, and a clean, briny coastal fade
