Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml
Ardbeg Traigh Bhan — pronounced "try van" and named after the hauntingly beautiful white sand beach on the southern shore of Islay, just steps from the distillery — is Ardbeg's oldest and most contemplative regular release. At 19 years of age, this is a whisky shaped by nearly two decades of Islay's salt-laced air, matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry casks that together produce a whisky of extraordinary balance and elegance.
The nose is serene and complex — the peat is present but softened by age, drifting in like sea mist over the beach that inspired its name. Beneath it, rich sherry fruit unfolds: dried orange peel, dark raisin, and fig mingle with vanilla cream, toasted almond, and a delicate floral note. On the palate, the years reveal themselves in layers: silky dark chocolate, stewed plum, honeyed oak, and a gentle warming spice build slowly and gracefully, with the smoke weaving through like a thread of memory. The finish is long, meditative, and deeply satisfying — smoke, sherry sweetness, and aged oak fading in perfect harmony.
A rare and refined expression — Traigh Bhan 19 is Ardbeg at its most thoughtful, and one of Islay's most treasured limited releases.
